Elwood

Elwood showed up in the studio one day, looking for some lunch. I had a lot of fun with him, trying out different types of skin tones and using a two-part epoxy to sculpt his pants and shoes. He got me going on fairies and elves again!

Tomte

This Tomte (Swedish Santa) was a commission piece that was especially fun to create!

Now, What Goes Where?!

It's all fun and games until the Elves take the day off!

Sunday Afternoon

Here is George with his buddy, in the park on a Sunday Afternoon. I entered the two of them in the Verdegris Valley Art Exhibit in Independence, Kansas and took First Place! They are now residing in the Caney Valley Historical Museum.

George

George took first place in Jack Johnston's first online doll sculpting class. He is one of my favorites!

Hands and Faces

The faces eventually became Santa heads on Christmas wreaths.

My Very First Santa

This was my very first large doll. He is 20 inches and everything was handmade, including his eyes. Behind him, pinned to the wall, is a pic out of a catalog I used for inspiration to sew his outfit. And you can see some of my very earliest attempts at smaller dolls. They were not so good! I am noticing that this pic is definitely dated...you can see a VCR in it!

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog!

Bear with me....I am new at this, but I really wanted to share my art with others. I thought this would be the perfect place to do it. I have lots of pics of completed pieces I will be posting, and will put up some works in progress as I can.

I used to have a website called  "Misty Hollow Fairies", but I let the name go. I have moved on from doing only fairies, and wanted to change to a name that was not so limiting.

Thank you for stopping by!
