About Me

My photo
Pam Van Schijndel
I first became interested in art as a young child, through the influence of my parents. My father is a painter and carver and my mother dabbled in a variety of art forms, including painting on glass, tole painting, dip and drape and other such things. My passion for doll making began in 2003 when, through a love of miniatures I came across a series of web sites dealing with polymer clay dolls, art dolls, and soft sculptures. Immediately I realized I had found a medium that I enjoyed, for its creativity and potential. Creating dolls is a process that involves mastery of many different skills. From building armatures, to designing and sewing the small clothes, the actual sculpting of the features, hands and shoes as well as the photography skills involved, it has become for me a fascination of endless possibilities.
